Reference price 320,000 yen Rare Old Violin Bow Round Bow
Alfred Knoll Workshop Germany Round Bow
Crafting violin bows for three generations since its founding in 1932. Alfred, the third-generation maker, uses carefully selected wood and crafts each bow by hand.
You'll experience a feeling of the bow adhering to the instrument while playing. It's an ideal step-up from beginner bows.
The tone is powerful, with a strong core. It has a deep sound on the G string and a brilliant tone on the E string. This is a significant difference from domestic brands like Sugito and Arche. The response upon sound production is quick and easy to handle.
While inexpensive bows often use angular construction for ease of processing by the maker, this is a meticulously finished round bow.
The inlay on the back of the frog (hair box) is a high-quality mother-of-pearl (MOP) marquetry, demonstrating the significant investment and careful craftsmanship put into this piece. (Inexpensive bows often show unevenness or impurities in this inlay, but this piece uses a homogeneous and beautiful section.) Please refer to the third image.
