Sage is a wonderful medicinal and edible herb, described in medieval texts as being able to prolong human life.

In China, Persia, and various parts of Europe, there are even proverbs such as If you want to live long, plant sage in your garden (???).

The scientific name Salvia means health, healing, and salvation ?.·*.

It is particularly known for its strong antiseptic properties, and there are also many descriptions of its benefits for the digestive system, menopause, brain function, and more. The more you research it, the more you realize what an amazing herb it is...!! It's no wonder it's said to prolong life.

In cooking, it can be used similarly to shiso or basil.
