The box is in rough condition, but the pot inside is fairly clean.
It's an unused item that has never been used, but it was stored on or under a kitchen shelf. The box has protected it from some dirt.

This is a Showa retro food container (pickle jar) from Hisamatsu Kiln.
It's a piece with a very atmospheric, calm amber glaze.
Capacity is 1.44L (8 go).
Recommended for storing umeboshi, miso, nukazuke (fermented rice bran pickles), and side dishes.
Due to long-term storage, the box has stains, tears, and damage.
