Set of 8 Vintage Mexican Silverplate Footed Cordial Cups 4.25in Barware
N/A
Eight small footed cups in bright silverplate - a simple rounded bowl on a short stem over a wide stepped foot that makes them pleasantly bottom-heavy. No chasing or engraving; the effect comes from the mirror finish and the way eight together throw light around a tray. Each base is stamped MEXICO and nothing else - no maker's mark, no silver standard, no pattern number. That country-only stamp is typical of mid-century Mexican silverplate holloware made for export at volume: a production set, not an artisan piece. No maker or line name turned up in searching. The set is intact at eight - barware like this usually surfaces in fours and sixes. Condition: Gently used with honest wear. One cup has a dent - noticed after photography, so it is not clearly visible in the images; a smooth push in the bowl wall, not a crease or split, and it does not affect use. The other seven are dent-free. Expect light surface scratching across the set, most visible inside the bowls, plus a few small tarnish spots. No plate loss, splits, or repairs. Photos of the dent available on request. Please note: silver naturally develops patina and toning over time, so the finish may appear brighter or softer than photographed depending on when it was last polished. - Maker: Unmarked (base stamped MEXICO) - Material: Silverplate, not sterling - Form: Footed cordial cups - Quantity: Set of 8 - Size: approx. 4.25in tall - Era: Mid to late 20th century Eight matching cups and one honest dent.
