This is a tailgut made by Bois d'Harmonie in France. It is for full-size violins/violas, but can also be used for fractional instruments with adjustments like cutting.
Made from aramid fiber, it interferes less with the movement of the tailpiece and strings compared to standard vinyl tailguts, resulting in a more resonant instrument.
It often has a greater impact on tone than strings. It is also easier to achieve results by changing the tailgut than by trying various strings.
