Vintage Whiting & Davis Model 2994 black metal mesh clutch w/gold flickering

Vintage Whiting & Davis Model 2994 black metal mesh w/gold flickering evening bag, an iconic piece of American fashion history from the 1940s. This specific model boasts a classic trapezoidal silhouette, an ornately etched golden metal frame with floral detailing showing slight ware/marking, a matching black metal mesh strap and secure kiss-lock clasp which closes with a strong grip. The frame is trademark stamped with the distinctive Whiting and Davis logo signifying high end U.S. workmanship.   The gold satin interior lining shows slight scratching but is tightly sewn in place without issue.  The clutch has one interior pocket with a cloth logo label attached signed with the Whiting and Davis logo which solidifies this item as scarce and highly collectible/valuable.  Overall superior condition for being 70-80 years old.
