The butter bowl holds 1 stick of butter DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Put softened butter in the butter bowl (the top) and fill the bottom bowl about 1/2 with water. Invert the butter bowl over and into the water bowl. Change the water every 2-3 days to keep the butter fresh and every day in summertime depending on temperature. If you leave for more than 3 days, empty the water and put your butter dish in the fridge. This method has been used for centuries in Europe.
