It is an unused item kept in storage at home.
This is a cotton fabric characterized by its uneven texture.
It is also known as cotton crepe or yoryu (crepe fabric).
It is a material packed with the wisdom for comfortably spending hot and humid Japanese summers.
Main Features:
Excellent breathability and quick-drying: The uneven texture (shibo) on the surface reduces the contact area with the skin, allowing air to pass through easily and preventing stickiness even when sweating.
High absorbency: It is woven with highly twisted 100% cotton yarn, which quickly absorbs sweat.
The fabric has a smooth, linen-like feel, similar to Takashima-chijimi (a type of traditional Japanese fabric).
I bought it as summer loungewear but never wore it.
