Description
Backun MoBa Clarinet Barrel
For Selmer, 66.5mm, Cocobolo
This model was developed in collaboration with Ricardo Morales of the Philadelphia Orchestra. It is characterized by its ability to produce a more powerful and sweet tone, maintaining a rich sound even when played forcefully.
Initially, the bore was designed to correct intonation issues, such as lowering the high B♭ produced by pressing the left-hand thumb register. However, maker Morrie Backun reamed the bore to allow players to perform with the instrument's natural intonation characteristics while retaining the MoBa's tone and playing feel.
