It was manufactured by Anacapa, a brand well-known for durable children's tableware throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The rim lists various animals (Giraffes, Cows, Rabbits, Pigs, Horses, Lambs, Elephants, Chickens) to help children learn names and spelling during mealtime.
