This is a Besson SOVEREIGN 928G-1, the flagship model at the time of its release. It features a gold brass bell.

I find it to have a dark and crisp sound.
It feels relatively easy to play with less resistance, and the sound seems to come out readily. While it likely depends heavily on the mouthpiece, it gives the impression that it plays well even with less air.
However, it can also handle a lot of air, and even when trying to produce a loud, rough sound, its depth is truly Besson-like. This is just my amateur impression.

I believe it's an instrument over 20 years old, but there are no dents, and the pistons and slides are in good working order. I don't see any lacquer peeling, but the triggers on the 1st and 3rd slides are slightly discolored. The piston heights have been adjusted with felt.

It comes with the original case. There is a signature of unknown origin on the case, but it should be removable with nail polish remover or similar. I'm not very knowledgeable about brass bands, so it might be a significant signature, so I'll leave it as is.

If you're going to continue playing in a brass band, a cornet is a must-have. Bessons have become quite expensive. How about this one at this price? It's a serious cornet.

Regrettably, I am selling it because I have no opportunities to use a short cornet.
