Wirgin Edinex 35mm viewfinder camera, a classic piece of pre-war/early post-war German optical engineering from the Wirgin Brothers of Wiesbaden, Germany. This compact rangefinder-style camera features: * Ludwig Victar f/4.5 F=5cm lens (Dresden, Germany) * Vario shutter (25, 50, 100, B, T speeds) by Alfred Gauthier * AGC (Alfred Gauthier Calmbach) logo on shutter face * Frame counter dial on top plate marked Wirgin * Distance scale in feet * Film speed/exposure reminder dial * Original dark brown leather ever-ready case included Condition: * Camera body: shows age-appropriate wear, some green oxidation/verdigris on metal parts, leatherette intact * Shutter: untested — not verified functional; sold as parts or display only * Lens elements: visible but not evaluated for clarity, haze, or fungus * Case: broken as shown in photos — cracked and deteriorated at seams, but still holds the camera; velvet lining on interior cap present * Top plate and controls present and intact This is a great candidate for a display piece, parts donor, or restoration project. The Vario shutter and Ludwig Victar lens combination is distinctive and desirable among prewar German camera collectors.
