Syrian Marquetry Mosaic Jewelry Box Inlay Mother Of Pearl Walnut Trinket Box

A stunning traditional Syrian marquetry craftsmanship; handmade wooden jewelry box entirely covered in intricate micro-mosaic inlay work featuring geometric Islamic star patterns, mother of pearl accents, and walnut burl wood panels. The lid showcases a central elongated diamond medallion surrounded by repeating eight-pointed star rosettes and cross-hatched geometric borders. The sides continue the pattern with bands of floral mosaic medallions separated by delicate striped inlay in cream, black, coral, and green. Even the interior lid panel features a small diamond-shaped marquetry medallion — a lovely detail only noticed once the box is opened. Inside, the box is lined in rich burgundy velvet with a braided cord border and fitted with small brass hinges — a beautifully finished piece inside and out. This is in great condition minus slight chipping at the bottom of one edge and one corner has a bit of wear, both are photographed.
