On November 23, 2025, which corresponds to the month of the gods (Kannazuki) in the lunar calendar, sand was collected from Inasa-no-hama beach. This sand was then offered at Sogano-yashiro shrine on the 24th, and sand was received from there and given to you.
We also visited Miho Shrine to pay our respects, completing a double pilgrimage with the sand we received.
[It is said that the deities enshrined at Miho Shrine are the wife and child of Okuninushi-no-mikoto. In Shimane Prefecture, it is believed that if you visit Izumo Taisha Shrine (the parent deity) first, and then Miho Shrine (the wife and child deities), your wishes are more likely to be granted.]

Purification Sand can be used in various ways, such as for good luck charms, warding off evil, or purification.

1. As a good luck charm: Place a small amount in a charm bag and carry it with you.

2. For purification and warding off evil at home:
For residences such as apartments, divide the purification sand into four portions and place each in a small dish or bottle. Place these portions at the four corners of your home.
Sprinkling it at the entrance or in the garden is also believed to ward off evil and bring good fortune.

3. It is also said to be effective to sprinkle a small amount on vehicles such as cars and bicycles for purification.

4. To sanctify potted plants, sprinkle a little sand on the soil.

5. Offer it at the family altar to pray for peace and prosperity within the home.

6. Sprinkle it on fields to pray for a bountiful harvest and to draw out the blessings of the earth.
