Inbadō (official name: Byōdō-ji Temple) is a Shingon sect Chisan school temple located in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City. It originated in the Heian period when Tachibana no Yukihira, guided by a dream, invited a statue of Yakushi Nyorai (the Medicine Buddha) from Inaba Province (Tottori Prefecture) and enshrined it in his residence. It is known as Inaba Yakushi, counted among Japan's Three Nyorai, and is revered for its blessings of cancer prevention and healing from illness.
