Italian Heirloom Variety (Franchi Company)
● Features
This is a traditional Italian heirloom variety, considered one of the most delicious types of zucchini. It is tender, sweet, and has a nutty flavor. It is a mid-late maturing variety that produces slightly shorter fruits, about 17-18 cm long, with subtle ridges. It can be eaten raw and is also suitable for harvesting as zucchini flowers due to its large blossoms.
● Uses
You can enjoy them in various ways, such as stuffing the blossoms with cheese or minced meat and grilling, or making fritters.
Sowing/Germination: April-June (optimal temperature 25-30℃). Sow in pots or directly in the field after the weather warms up.
Transplanting: When the plant has 3-4 true leaves. Space plants 80-100 cm apart in a location with plenty of sunlight and good ventilation.
Harvest: 4-6 days after flowering (around 18 cm). Artificial pollination in the morning ensures a good harvest.
?? Please be careful as excessive humidity can cause seeds to rot.
? Pro Tip ?
Measures and management for rainy season humidity (long rains)
?For fields: Create raised beds to ensure good drainage.
?For planters: During periods of heavy rain, place planters under eaves to prevent overwatering.
?Disease prevention: Removing lower leaves each time you harvest fruits improves air circulation.
?Timing tip: To avoid extreme heat, sowing in June for a late summer to autumn harvest is also recommended.
Since this is an heirloom variety, you can save seeds.
Why not try growing them from your own saved seeds in the following years? ?
Let's enjoy nature together ?
● Seed Collection Method
Allow ripe fruits to mature further, then extract the seeds, wash them, dry them, and store them. *Please be aware of cross-pollination with other zucchini and somen squash varieties.
Carrying the resonance of pleasant sounds ?:*
Before shipping, I gently expose the seeds to the sound of a tuning fork playing frequencies of love and harmony (such as 528Hz and 888Hz), hoping they will grow vigorously and healthily in your care. I send them out with all my heart, carried by pleasant vibrations?:???·?
