Special Price! Popular Enchanting South Sea Banana (Ice Cream Banana) Seedling from Okinawa Main Island!

This listing is for a division seedling of the popular Nanyo Banana, also known as Plantain Banana or Ice Cream Banana, from Okinawa Main Island. This is a familiar banana in Okinawa, affectionately known by various names such as Vegetable Banana and Mochikko Banana.

We are listing it under the nickname Ice Cream Banana as many fruit shops in the central and southern parts of Okinawa Main Island sell its fruit under this name.

This is a small seedling, approximately 20cm in height and 35cm in total length. Ice Cream Banana is a medium-sized banana that fruits at a height of 3m when grown outdoors.

[Contents of Delivery] 1 Ice Cream Banana seedling

This is a cold-tolerant banana that continues to grow even in winter in Okinawa. The second photo shows actual harvested fruit, and the fifth photo shows the parent plant. Please use it as a reference, as it is a seedling planted outdoors for about 2 years after germination.

If the growing environment is favorable, this is a robust banana, and you can harvest bananas like the ones in the photo within 1.5 years at the latest! You can also harvest about 10 suckers!

In our farm, we planted division seedlings about 1m tall in September, which flowered in May of the following year and were harvested in August. Under good conditions, harvesting is possible within a year!

*The seedling will be removed from its pot, with a minimal amount of soil attached, and shipped in a lightly packed box.

For seedlings with large leaves, the leaves will be folded or cut for delivery. Banana leaves sprout continuously even after being cut.

*Please refer to the second and fourth photos for the size of the seedlings you will receive.

In Okinawa, when transplanting, we cut the leaves to prioritize root growth. Cutting the leaves promotes healthier and faster growth, so please be assured of this. We kindly ask for your understanding in advance.
