Dried Houttuynia Cordata

Thank you for looking.

This is homemade dried Houttuynia cordata. It is still green.

Houttuynia cordata has long been valued as a medicinal herb, known as Jūyaku (ten medicines).
It is said to be used for its diuretic properties and to improve heat rash and atopic dermatitis.

In our home, we boil it down and drink it.
My grandmother, who passed away at the age of 100, used to pick, wash, dry, and drink it herself every year.
She always said it purifies the blood.

We cannot list this as a food item.
However, since we dry it for our own consumption, we have thoroughly removed dirt, debris, and withered lower leaves.
Flowers are included. They are tied in small bundles during air-drying to prevent steaming.

Each stem is 60-80 cm long, and each leaf is about the size of the palm of your hand.
We have heard that the period when the pure white, delicate flowers bloom is when its efficacy is most recognized.

Some people roast it before drinking, but I believe it can be brewed as is without being difficult to drink.

You can put it in a bag and float it in your bath, or boil it and add it to your bath... it is also said to have a skin-whitening effect.

As a share from our home...
We put more than 150 grams into an Ailap bag. Storage packs don't allow for the desired amount...

We will ship anonymously. Would you be interested?
