Harvestable until the first frost. The leaves will wither in winter, but new shoots will emerge in spring. If planted once, you can enjoy it indefinitely.
For areas north of the Kanto region, greenhouse cultivation is recommended.
If you harvest the bulbils in autumn, you can also grow new seedlings from them.
Okawame is rich in nutrients such as magnesium, zinc, and folic acid, and is said to be effective for beautiful skin, boosting metabolism, and reducing the risk of diabetes. It is a vegetable with highly noteworthy nutritional value.
Boil, cool, and serve with ponzu soy sauce or dressing, or prepare as a side dish or namul-style.
*Okawame is one of the most nutritious and excellent vegetables. It is said to contain about 8 times more nutrients than lettuce.
Magnesium is also recommended for people with diabetes.
Overwintering: Since the bulb is underground, when the leaves wither due to cold, mound soil around the base of the plant to overwinter. This will cause the plant to sprout in clumps the following year, resulting in a more robust growth from the second year onwards compared to the first. The bulbs can be treated as annuals and stored for overwintering. I leave mine planted!

Once your order is confirmed, the bulb will be dug up, soil removed, and the roots kept moist with a damp paper towel. It will be shipped via Yu-Packet mini. The vines may be slightly bent for packaging purposes.
