Description
These are two types of crow mussel specimens.
They measure between 171-135mm.
The specimens from Yamanashi and Shiga Prefectures are both likely to be *Unio douglasiae* based on their distribution, but their swelling differs significantly.
Both crow mussels are dead shells and have noticeable large holes and cracks.
I am an amateur regarding terrestrial and freshwater species.
Some were gifts, so I don't know the details...
