This is a child-safe knife with a serrated blade designed to prevent injury if it accidentally touches hands or fingers.
When preparing this listing, I tested it by cutting a cucumber, and it cuts well. I truly believe you have no need to worry about injuries if your child accidentally brushes their fingers or hands against the blade.

My child became interested in cooking when they were in kindergarten, and I purchased this knife over 10 years ago.
I was too afraid to let them use it extensively, so they only used it for cutting soft foods before quickly losing interest after just 2 or 3 uses. It was then stored away in a kitchen cabinet.

I noticed some dirt on the blade and will clean it as thoroughly as possible.
There is no sheath or cover for the knife, but I will wrap it in clean white paper and then securely pack it with bubble wrap for shipping. This may seem like excessive packaging, but I prefer to err on the side of caution.
