Awata-guchi Issankoshi Tadatsuna Same-te Usuba Knife, Hon-yaki, 8-inch, Ebony Handle

Purchased about 20 years ago from a knife shop in Osaka.
This knife was made by the same craftsman at the same factory as Isshoshi Tadatsuna. (At that time, three knife shops, including Nagata-san's, were purchasing knives from that factory.)
It has been sharpened and used, but infrequently.
Rust prevention (the oil that comes with it when purchased) remains.
Some of the oil has worn off on the back, but
the coating will disappear with continued use.
The mirror finish causes light to reflect, so
the photos are dark.
It's hard to see, but there is a hamon (temper line) on the back, indicating it's hon-yaki (fully forged).
There are some minor chips in the blade that are not visible in the photos.
This is a resale at a reduced price from the original purchase price!
Even without a brand name, it is a great deal compared to buying a regular knife.
Since it is hon-yaki, please consider it if you are thinking of purchasing a knife that will last a lifetime.
