Description
All-purpose knife. Blade length 16.4cm, 149g. The spine is approximately 1.7mm thick near the heel. It is engraved with Kikuichi Ho-ei Saku but is a brand of Kikuichi Monju Shiro Kanenaga in Nara City. It is a clad knife, but the steel sandwiched is not stainless steel. Be careful of rust only on the blade edge. Nara knives are characterized by frequent name engravings, and this item also had one, which was polished away until it was almost illegible. Neither the blade nor the handle show significant signs of wear and it seems usable for a considerable time. It has been thoroughly sharpened, honed, and polished.
