When gasoline has gone bad, it emits a distinct odor completely different from fresh gasoline, making it immediately recognizable. If you notice such an odor, use Rotted Gasoline Cleaner to clean the fuel tank.
By using Rotted Gasoline Cleaner before rust removal, you can achieve a more complete rust removal of the fuel tank. (Rust removal agents are ineffective if rotted gasoline remains.)
As this is an alkaline cleaner, you can safely clean rotted gasoline from the tank without causing rust after use.
