This batch is primarily from Hokkaido-grown Todomatsu (Sakhalin fir), which has a wonderful aroma.

These are shavings from wood artificially dried, including Douglas fir, Todomatsu (Sakhalin fir), and Hinoki cypress. While our usual sawdust products are powdered, these are shavings produced by an automatic planer, shaped like katsuobushi (bonito flakes).
They are shavings from lumber dried to a moisture content of 19% or less during the planing process.

Since there are no additives (like plywood), they are suitable for use as a substrate for adult insects, as bedding for pets, or for composting to create fertilizer.
Their thorough drying makes them effective for absorbing industrial waste oil, vomit, and pet waste. The natural wood aroma also acts as a deodorizer.

Difference between Ogako (sawdust powder) and Ogakuzu (wood shavings):
Ogako is the powdered wood waste produced when lumber is cut with a saw.
Ogakuzu are shavings produced when the surface of lumber is treated with a planer; they are not powdered.
