This lighting fixture was created by the world-renowned sculptor Isamu Noguchi.
Named AKARI rather than chochin (lantern), this lighting is loved worldwide as a masterpiece of lighting design, brilliantly fusing contemporary artistic sensibility with Japanese tradition.

AKARI is made using the same unchanging process as traditional Gifu chochin craftsmanship. The molds from when Isamu Noguchi was actively involved in production are still carefully used today. Each AKARI is meticulously handcrafted by artisans, resulting in a product of exceptional quality.

The light filtering through the Japanese paper (washi) disperses softly, casting a gentle glow throughout the room.
The floor lamp type is characterized by its three or four slender iron wire legs, designed to be as lightweight as possible. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit different uses, such as bedside, on a side table, or for floor placement.

This is a warm and inviting piece made from washi paper and bamboo ribs, with a unique texture that can be enjoyed even when the light is off. The washi shade is signed by Isamu Noguchi. It is foldable for compact storage when not in use.

The tips of the legs have non-slip rubber parts to prevent scratches on floors, tatami mats, or tables. The switch is an inline switch (for turning the light on and off).

*Please note that the color may vary significantly depending on the environment, such as natural light or fluorescent lighting. The appearance may also differ depending on your monitor.
*This is a high-quality replica. Please understand this before purchasing.
