Made with naturally dried cedar wood. For recent heat countermeasures, the bottom board can be swapped between a standard type and a 6mm mesh wire net type. By removing the bottom board, you can easily inspect the hive using a smartphone, mirror, or other tools. The top is made with a slotted plywood board to accommodate wax moths, Acarapis woodi (bee mites), and a winter feeder. Four metal rods are included to prevent comb collapse.
Usage instructions, including tips for attracting bees, are provided in a letter.
