Rare USA-Made Natural Whetstone Black Hard Arkansas Stone [Approx. 100x41x11mm] 138g New, Unopened

Ultra-rare USA-made natural whetstone Black Hard Arkansas Stone [Approx. 100x41x11mm] 138g New, Unused
This is an ultra-rare, USA-made natural whetstone. Black Hard Arkansas Stone from Arkansas, USA [Approx. 100x41x11mm] 138g.
This is an oil stone. Once used and the oil has permeated, it will provide a very fine finish.
As it is new, it is recommended to apply a generous amount of oil to the surface and let it soak in before use. It is used for final finishing, similar to the following progression: Diamond coarse stone -> Soft (medium grit) -> Hard (finishing stone) -> Fine ceramic -> Black Hard.

For small whetstones, you can use them like regular whetstones, which is fine for small knives. If you are sharpening larger items, please hold the stone in your hand and keep the blade vertical.
It feels similar to using a Lansky or Spyderco sharpener. Hold the stone horizontally against the vertically fixed blade, then change the angle to half that, and then tilt it a little more to sharpen at an angle of about 35-40 degrees. The Black Hard Arkansas is a final finishing stone, finer than ceramic.

A 120mm petty knife is shown for size comparison.
It is not included, but we believe this size is perfectly usable.

These are becoming rarer each year, especially the Black Hard Arkansas Stone. This size is considered quite large.
A used Arkansas oil stone is shown as a sample. Once the oil has permeated this much, very little oil is needed during use.
