Rarity: One of the three major hardwoods from Southeast Asia, its limited origin makes it difficult to obtain, leading to rising prices.
Beauty: Characterized by its deep reddish-brown (reddish-purple to dark brown) color and beautiful wood grain, it has a natural luster.
Durability and Strength: A very hard wood with high density, it is highly durable and resistant to insects and fungi.
Versatility: Used in a wide range of fields, including high-end furniture, Buddhist altars, Buddhist implements, musical instruments (guitars, violin bows), decorative items, and interior materials.
Workability: Despite its hardness, it is somewhat difficult to process and requires effort, which increases its value.
