This is a precious vintage Ukrainian embroidered rushnyk, made over 60 years ago in Ukraine.
*A rushnyk is a ceremonial cloth embroidered with ancient symbols and codes, used in sacred rituals and events such as weddings in Eastern Slavic cultures. Passed down through generations in each region, ethnographic researchers believe they possess unique designs and patterns with hidden meanings.
This is a completely handmade item, featuring hand embroidery on handwoven fabric.
Meaning of the embroidery:
A branch with flowers symbolizes that there is always hope, and that one will surely develop and thrive despite difficulties.
