A Hirobuta (large tray) is used to place documents and other items when giving a formal gift or during a betrothal ceremony.
Hirobuta are typically black lacquered and feature a gold family crest in the center.

Originally, the Hirobuta was the lid of a clothing box, and clothes were placed inside when presented. Later, it was made into a tray shape for gifts and other items.

Used only once for a betrothal ceremony.
No noticeable scratches or damage.
