Yamaha Upright Piano UX10A - Renewed, Excellent Condition. Made in 1990.

As a professional piano tuner, you can purchase with confidence. This is a Yamaha UX10A, manufactured in 1990. Although 36 years have passed since its manufacture, the bridle tapes and flange cords, which are prone to deterioration over time, have been replaced. (These parts are often deteriorated in private sales, affecting rapid repetition and trills.) The hardened hammer heads have been reshaped into a beautiful oval form through filing, resulting in bright overtones.

The key bushing cloth and punching cloth are in good condition with no looseness, providing a smooth touch. The muffler and key-holding felts have been replaced. The key edges are clean with no deformation or discoloration.

Metal parts such as strings, tuning pins, balance pins, front pins, pedals, and hinges have been meticulously cleaned of rust, restoring their bright tone and smooth touch. All professional maintenance, including key leveling, action regulation, striking distance, touch weight, and hammer stop, has been performed.

The tone is bright, characteristic of Yamaha pianos, but the metallic harshness has been minimized to create a mellow, warm, and gentle sound. The touch is light and easy to play, making it suitable for beginners to adapt to quickly. The exterior has been buffed with wool to a like-new shine, with no noticeable scratches.

The UX10A, despite being a Type 1 model, features a tone escape, a large music stand, and X-bracing, producing rich bass, expansive mid-range, and brilliant treble. The large music stand at this height (usually located on the key cover) also adds to the stylish exterior design, providing a sense of ownership.

With dimensions of 121 cm (height) x 151 cm (width) x 62 cm (depth), it is slightly smaller than the Type 3 model, making it easy to find a place for it.

The UX series was produced during Japan's bubble economy, benefiting from high-quality wood and meticulous craftsmanship, with cost being no object. It is unlikely that such pianos can be manufactured today.

You can try playing the piano at our workshop in Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture. We highly recommend trying it out before purchasing to check the exterior, touch, and tone.
