Tsugaru Shamisen - Red Sandalwood, Gold Leaf Inlay, Ayasugi Body

This would be perfect for someone upgrading from a beginner instrument.

I'm not in a rush to sell, so I will not be lowering the price.

I would be happy if it reaches someone who will cherish it.

Purchasing even a used shamisen from a specialty shop would likely cost 2-3 times this listing price.

While the tochi (burled wood) is not abundant, it features a solid red sandalwood body with gold detailing and an ayasugi (herringbone pattern) soundboard.

The skin is also free of tears.

The sawari (sympathetic string resonance) has a relatively long sustain, but the skin is slightly loosened. If you prefer a tighter tension, you may want to have it re-skinned.

I believe the tone is just right when played with the bridge set slightly lower.

It is ready to play immediately upon arrival as there are no issues with its use, but the body cover has cracked and has been repaired with tape.
Please prepare your own preferred cover.

Included accessories are a temporary joint, plastic tuning pegs, and a paulownia case.
Even just the temporary joint would cost a considerable amount to have made, so it is quite a bargain to have it included.

*I am currently still playing it regularly.

Previously, when I sold another shamisen, someone requested a return stating they didn't like the tone, but I generally cannot accommodate such requests. (As expected, of course...)
