After being air-dried for approximately 1.5 to 2 years, it has been smoked over a traditional Japanese hearth (irori) for over 10 years. This process imbues the reed with both superior sound quality and durability, making it a top-grade product that is no exaggeration to call the best. We have also paid close attention to the cap, cement, and Japanese paper, using the finest materials cultivated over many years. Allow us to elaborate a bit. When we speak of smoking, there are various methods. Some involve using artificial smoking devices with smoke from waste wood, fallen branches, or dead leaves. Others involve smoking for only a few months or years. While these are all forms of smoking, what is true smoking? It is not like that. The sap within trees felled from the mountains rises with the smoke and coats the reeds over many years, nurturing them into resilient and firm reeds, much like smoked bamboo.
