Description
This instrument is made to the same specifications as the Shishida and Maruyama shinobue flutes.

It is also designed to accommodate fingerings that cover the second and third holes from the bottom.

Most beginners can produce low notes, but often struggle with high notes or the very high pii sound. Many are concerned about whether their current flute can produce these sounds properly.

This flute was created based on feedback from instructors across various regions, aiming for ease of producing high notes (kōon), clear projection of higher harmonics (daikōon), and affordability.

For beginners, it is recommended to start with a less expensive flute. Once you can produce kōon and daikōon, it's advisable to visit a shop, try playing different flutes, and then purchase one that suits you. (Some flutes may look good but cannot produce daikōon.) Additionally, progressing in your learning is faster if you start taking lessons once you can produce a certain range of notes.

To prioritize ease of playing, resonance, and affordability, there may be minor imperfections such as scratches, natural variations in shape, natural patterns, or slight natural curves.

An image is provided with a 10mm ball for reference regarding hole size.

Thickness: Approximately 20mm at the mouthpiece.
Length: Approximately 41.9 cm.
Mouthpiece opening: Approximately 14mm.
Thickness: Slightly thicker than average.
(Thicker flutes tend to have better low-frequency resonance, while thinner flutes tend to produce daikōon more easily.)
Wall thickness: 2.2 on a 5-point scale.
(Thicker walls improve daikōon and resonance, while thinner walls make the flute easier to play.)
Pitch: Approximately 6.5 shaku.

Tonal Range: Produces clear notes from Tsutone (Ron) up to Daikōon 5.

What is Yakitake (Roasted Bamboo)?
This is the material that produces the best resonance among shinobue bamboo. Roasting bamboo thoroughly until it hardens improves its resonance. However, it is difficult to process due to the scarcity of suitable materials.
When made naturally, the resonance is further enhanced. Bamboo grows by competing for sunlight. Therefore, bamboo that wins this competition and reaches for the light is ideal for flutes. (I have researched the physics of natural principles for many years and can identify bamboo that meets these conditions.)

What is Tōnuri (Translucent Coating) Finish?
This finish uses pigments in the coating, which makes it easier to produce sound. Furthermore, by carving grooves inside and allowing the coating to soak in, it further enhances the ease of playing and resonance.

Please Note:
This flute produces kōon and daikōon exceptionally well. When playing at a strong volume, please ensure there are no people nearby. Special caution should be taken with small children, the elderly, individuals with disabilities, or those who are unwell.
