Excellent Condition Columbia No. 15, No Engraving
Prototype Diaphragm Soundbox!

Unlike the regular Columbia No. 15 soundbox, this one has no engraving on the back of the soundbox and the diaphragm shape is significantly different.

While many No. 15 soundboxes exist, those without engraving and with a significantly different diaphragm shape are extremely rare!

As you can see from the reference material (see image 14), it's not just the gold-plated No. 15 that used a special shaped diaphragm.
At the time, some silver-plated No. 15 soundboxes on Columbia's high-end machines also used this special shaped diaphragm.

This special shaped diaphragm was later adopted for the Columbia No. 20 soundbox. The HMV No. 23 soundbox uses the same diaphragm, with a slightly different front cover shape, and HMV gramophones were sold using Columbia soundboxes.

I have described it as a prototype because the diaphragm was experimentally made for a new soundbox, not for the No. 15.

The No. 15 soundbox diaphragm I am offering is a rare diaphragm from a very small production lot.

This is not a new diaphragm, but an original genuine part from the time!

Even specialized stores rarely perform overhauls of soundboxes.

I have experience overhauling approximately 700 soundboxes, so I believe you can use it with confidence.

You should be able to use it maintenance-free for about 10 years.
