What is a Death Notification Postcard?
This is a postcard sent to inform recipients of who passed away and when, that the funeral has concluded successfully, and to express gratitude on behalf of the deceased for their past kindness. It is sent under the name of the chief mourner. The product here is for the text after the funeral.
A Mochu Hagaki (condolence postcard) is for declining New Year's cards, while a death notification postcard is a report of the funeral and an expression of gratitude for past kindness.
If the deceased had already completed their New Year's card retirement (meaning they stopped sending New Year's cards), a condolence postcard cannot be sent, so use a death notification postcard to announce their passing.
