Employs Sony's proprietary Direct Comparator method, which utilizes a high-speed PLL IC to achieve a synthesizer tuner with frequency precision up to 100kHz increments, matching the reception frequency.

Equipped with a WODSD circuit that generates switching signals with low harmonic distortion to improve rejection of adjacent channel interference.

Features a Radial Power Supply configuration where each block is arranged around the power supply unit.

Preset memory allows for random registration of up to 30 stations.

Includes functions such as digital tuning via the tuning knob and preset scanning.
