[Product Details]
This is a rare vintage mahjong tile set from the early to mid-Showa period.
These are authentic setakehai (tiles with bamboo backing), using natural **ox bone** for the surface and bamboo for the back.
They offer a moist, comfortable feel and a satisfying clack sound when played, which is unique to these traditional tiles and unlike modern resin ones.
• Material: Ox bone (surface), Bamboo (back)
• Carving: Deep, artisanal hand-carving
• Size: Please refer to the photos
[Condition]
• Tiles: There are natural vessels (black dots or lines) characteristic of natural materials, which are proof of genuine bone. The aging yellowing gives it a wonderful antique atmosphere.
• Case: There is age-appropriate damage (rust, dirt), but it does not affect storage.
• Some tiles show peeling on the bamboo part.
[Set Contents]
• Complete set of mahjong tiles ([*144 tiles, no missing pieces])
• Scoring sticks, dice
• Original case
