Description

Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter

Opened, but unused.

This adapter allows you to connect Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 devices, such as external hard drives and Thunderbolt docks, to any Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) and USB 4 port on your Mac.

It's a bidirectional adapter, so you can also connect new Thunderbolt 3 devices to a Mac with a Thunderbolt port or Thunderbolt 2 port and macOS Sierra or later.

You can also use it to connect Thunderbolt-enabled displays, such as the Apple Thunderbolt Display or LG Thunderbolt 2 displays, to the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) and USB 4 ports on your Mac.

However, when using it with the Apple Thunderbolt Display, the display cannot be powered through the adapter, so a separate power source is required.
