Corningware Grab-It Sandstone Bowl w/Lid and Visions Grab-It Bowl w/Glass Lid

The first bowl is a vintage Corning Visions Grab-It Bowl accompanied by it's matching glass lid, produced primarily during the 1980's. It belongs to the iconic transparent Amber product line manufactured by Corning in both France and the USA. Notable for its singular prominent tab handle designed to allow users to securely grab the hot dish straight out of the microwave or oven.   Thermal Shock Resistance: Made from a specialized glass-ceramic material (Pyroceram), the bowl can handle dramatic temperature swings. It can safely transition directly from the freezer to a hot stovetop, oven, or microwave without cracking.   Stovetop Versatility: Unlike normal glass, the bowl itself is completely safe for direct stovetop use.  Lid Restriction Warning: While the bowl can take open flames, the glass Pyrex lid cannot be used directly on a stovetop burner or under a broiler.  Non-Porous Surface: The amber glass surface does not absorb food odors, stains, or flavors, making it exceptionally easy to clean by hand or in a dishwasher The second bowl, classic models were manufactured using Pyroceram, a highly durable glass-ceramic material capable of handling extreme temperature swings. Later iterations from the late 1990s onward shifted toward a glazed ceramic stoneware composition. Versatility: Pyroceram versions are prized for going seamlessly from the refrigerator to the microwave, oven, broiler, or stovetop. The second bowl has a plastic snap-on lid for refrigerator storage.
