This is a decorative folding fan from the renowned Shogi player, Yasuharu Oyama. It was sold as a limited edition of only 500 pieces about 20 years ago, making it quite rare. The tamenuri (dark red lacquer) finish is beautiful, and the design adorned with gold leaf is truly captivating.
As shown in the attached photos, there are signs of age-related dirt, particularly on the folds of the fan's paper. There are also minor chips on the bamboo at the tip of the fan. The 7th photo shows a slight line of age-related dirt on the left edge of the back side.

Other than these points, there are no major scratches or tears, and the fan opens and closes without issue, so it is in generally good condition.
Regarding the scent of the fan, unlike other standard fans from the Japan Shogi Association, this fan has a slightly more dignified aroma.
The original box used for storage is deteriorated, so the fan will be carefully packed and shipped via Yu-Packet Post.

The bamboo ribs of the fan feature an ebi-nuri (shrimp-colored lacquer) and tamenuri (dark red lacquer) finish, creating a luxurious feel. Combined with the gold leaf, it makes for an auspicious item.
