Vtg 4 Pc Mid Century Japanese Turned Wood Salad Bowl Set

This is a beautiful vintage 4-piece set of matching, hand-turned natural wood bowls manufactured in Japan. While they feature an identical shape, somewhat size and smooth lacquer finish, the stamps on the bottoms reveal a fascinating generational mix spanning three distinct decades of Japanese export history. This set includes: * 2 Bowls stamped Chrissy Japan (Circa 1960s/1970s) * 1 Bowl featuring a partial/smeared factory ink stamp-(Japan) * 1 Bowl clearly stamped Made in Occupied Japan (Circa 1945-1952) Because Japanese factories utilized the same lathe patterns over several decades, these pieces match flawlessly on a table or shelf despite their age differences. There is a slight difference in height. Please see pictures. * Perfect for a Mid-Century Modern kitchen, tiki bar decor, or an Occupied Japan historical collection!
