Rare High-Performance V/UHF Airband Receiver R-535 by Asia Communications Industry

This is the R-535, a legendary aircraft radio and airband receiver previously released by the now-defunct Asia Tsushin Kogyo / Signal Communications.
VHF/UHF coverage.

This is a legendary device, the pinnacle of discrete component construction. It is also rare.

It was used in active service and then stored at home. Upon listing, it was powered on and is receiving.
However, we cannot guarantee its performance as it was when new.
Given the considerable time since its release, expect commensurate signs of age.
- The BNC connector on the front is slightly angled due to an impact.
(Connection and contact are not affected.)
- The antenna switching slide switch on the back is loose and has intermittent contact.
- The LCD is slightly tilted horizontally, and the backlight has unevenness. (Operation is not affected.)
- Some crackling can be felt with both the squelch and volume controls.
- Memory is retained, but the memory backup battery (AAA) likely needs replacement. The LCD display sometimes shows garbled characters when powered on.
- There are commensurate scratches, dirt, fading, and rust overall.
Please purchase with an understanding of the condition.

Rather than leaving it as is, due to its discrete component construction,
we believe that those with technical skills can restore its performance through maintenance.
