Description
This item is an authentic vintage Elias Artmetal Fine Pewter frame. Founded by designer Constantine Elias, Elias Artmetal is widely celebrated for producing heirloom-quality, three-dimensional art castings handcrafted right in the United States. Elias frames are cast from a specialized Extra Fine Pewter alloy. This proprietary formula blends pure virgin metals with a small percentage of sterling silver. The silver injection significantly enhances the frame's structural strength, brightness, and sharpness of detail. This particular model features a square outer layout with an ornate, classic border. The pattern relies heavily on intricate floral motifs and scrolling textures influenced by historical European art movements like Art Nouveau and Victorian design. The circular foil stamp visible in the center is the official Elias signature seal, verifying that the piece utilizes their silver-pewter alloy. Vintage square and miniature rectangular Elias frames from the late 20th century are highly sought-after collectible items. This frame is in EXCELLENT Vintage condition! Original glass, backing and center seal in tact. All closure pins present. 4” X 4 1/2” Markings: ELIAS FINE PEWTER 860 - Elias 1991 - USA
