Stunning late-Victorian/ early Art Nouveau handled brides basket frame from the legendary Meridian Britannia Company dating to the 1890s Crafted out of heavy Britannia metal with an aged silver plate finish Center floor: open work rectangular plaque depicting a woodland fairy with floral wings next to a mother bird tending her nest Two matching circular open work medallions showing a winged cherub/putio harvesting fruit One end of the rim has wild strawberry vines the other has a daisy/sunflower motif Stamped on one foot says Meriden Company and on another foot it say 217 This is just the silverplate frame/stand only There are few missing leaves on the top and some tarnish and scuffs/scratchs consistent to an antique piece
