Vintage Ellen Pyle Baby Chicks Tin 1932 Saturday Evening Post Blue 7.5”
N/A
Vintage round collectible tin featuring Ellen Pyle’s charming “Baby Chicks” cover illustration from the May 7, 1932 issue of The Saturday Evening Post. The artwork depicts a young girl surrounded by yellow and black chicks, with the original “5 c. the Copy” cover text reproduced on the lid. Measures approximately 7.5” in diameter. This example has an especially attractive deep blue/turquoise lower tin, a colorway that appears considerably less often than other versions of this collectible tin and gives it wonderful display appeal. Please note that although this image is sometimes attributed to Norman Rockwell in secondary-market listings, the original 1932 cover was actually painted by noted American illustrator Ellen Pyle. The official Saturday Evening Post archive identifies Pyle as the artist. Good vintage condition with light surface wear, scratches/scuffs and minor edge wear consistent with age and use. Interior/bottom shows light marks. See photos for exact condition. Great for collectors of vintage advertising, American illustration, Saturday Evening Post memorabilia, decorative tins, or Ellen Pyle artwork.
