Antique Victorian Era Burgundy Velvet Double Deck Playing Card Box Case

Decorative antique burgundy velvet playing-card box designed to hold two decks of cards.  The box features a removable domed cover, ornamental cream-colored trim and an applied miniature playing-card motif on the front. The divided interior provides separate compartments for two standard decks.  The estate auctioneer cataloged this piece as a Victorian velvet playing-card box. Its precise age, maker, country of origin and decorative materials have not been independently determined.
