Vintage Woven Chinese Split Bamboo & Rattan Woven Round Storage Sewing Basket With Lid  This basket serves as a stylish container for craft supplies and trinkets or as a vanity accent, addition to a vintage woven basket collection or simply as an interesting display piece. It features a split bamboo frame woven with flexible rattan core strands. Made for export during the 1970s and 1980s, it showcases a starburst pattern along the top of the lid and base and follows an Asian folk art/boho style typical of People's Republic of China exports of this era. This lightweight basket measures 8 inches in diameter and about 3 inches tall with lid.  Condition: Excellent vintage condition; sturdy, intact and holds its original round shape well with no warped or crushed sections; tight rattan weaving and split bamboo structural spokes are fully intact with no unraveling and very minimal broken bands along the rim, lid and base. Light, age-appropriate surface wear and mild dust in crevices consistent with normal use and storage. The natural wood patina remains rich and uniform. Original paper export label remains attached to base with minor edge fraying/aging. Lid sits flush and fits securely.
