Royal Doulton Lambeth Kiln Leaf Pattern Water Jar, 23cm, 19th Century
This is a vase from Royal Doulton's Lambeth pottery. The Lambeth pottery opened in 1815 and produced many highly artistic masterpieces until its closure in 1956. It was presented to Queen Victoria and others, and is known for playing a crucial role in Doulton receiving the royal title. This piece was later adapted by a tea ceremony master to serve as a mizusashi (freshwater container) by adding a lid, making it a unique and intriguing item. If this mizusashi were used in a tea ceremony, it would undoubtedly capture everyone's attention.
